Update: Read About NAC's Success in Reno!
Neubert Aero Corp.’s Team NAC will take to the skies on September 16 – 20, 2009, to compete at the 46th National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada.
Team NAC and its plane, Invictus, are returning to Reno after a series of uncontrollable events prevented them from racing in 2008, even though Invictus passed all race performance checks. Not to be sidelined, NAC founder and president Tim Neubert shifted his energy at the 2008 event to supporting fellow racers by serving as a race announcer for the Formula One class. This year the team is returning for another shot at the winner’s circle.
“We had a great time in 2008 despite the last minute change in plans. We’re going to have an even better time this year. Our plane is in top condition and our pilot, Thom Richard, is a seasoned Formula One competitor – one of the best. We have our sights set on the winner’s circle,” said Neubert.
Neubert Aero Corp. established Team NAC in 2007 to commemorate ten years of successful business. During last year’s race Invictus, a modified 1976 Cassutt IIIM, was one of the most photographed planes at the event. This was largely due to its unique and sporty appearance, made possible by the use of cutting-edge graphic materials and techniques. Team NAC expects the plane to attract attention for more than good looks in 2009.
“Invictus has a tremendous opportunity to do well in the gold class,” said Richard. “Team NAC has been making improvements to the plane every day and we have a good chance of being in the top rankings on race day.”
Known as the world’s fastest motor sport, Formula One air racing has been popular since the 1940s. Drawing thousands of fans from across the globe, the Championship Air Races in Reno are the longest running air competitions in the United States.
